Shea Goodbye

Attending a Met game last year, 2008, whilst looking over at the new stadium being constructed...it was bitter-sweet.

Ha! Shea Goodbye! despite this lousy jobless economy, we are in the era of new ballparks.

bittersweet, Isn't it though? I remember when our beloved Met Stadium was torn down after the Dome was forced upon us. The Metrodome is the worst stadium in the MLB.

Hi Vivian how do all those people get off work to watch the game lol.
Thank you for your comment on the road to the glens photo. It was taken on the road to Ben Nevis Fort William Scotland. This was not a typical day in Scotland, the sun was shining.lol.

It never ceases to amaze me how the Romans built stadiums 2000 years ago in places like Rome, Nimes, Orange, Lyon, etc, that are still standing today, and some are still being used (like in Nimes, France) but our stadiums don't even last 50 years before getting torn down. I can't help but think of Veteran's Stadium in Philadelphia built around 1970, and gone by about 2000, demolished to make way for a new stadium. If that is not a symbol of our wasteful, throw-away culture, I don't know what is...
