I just had to go and Google 'Castor Bean Plant' I had never heard of them... and learned that they grow very fast.

How long have you been growing yours? Another question... is there a reason why you wanted to grow this specific plant? or do you just have a green thumb and like all plants???

I learned ya something today, eh Shelia? LOL

This summer was my first time growing the caster bean plant. I do a different theme with my annual plants each summer. This year I wanted to make my deck look somewhat tropical. There is a wonderful nursery not too far from my house, called, Ridge Hidden Plants and he has the most amazing variety of plants, trees and bushes I've ever seen.

He told me the caster bean plant which is an annual, grows between 4 to 8 feet or taller. I grew 2 of them, along with hibiscus and another vine flower plant which the name escapes me.
The caster bean plant has seeds in theses pods inside its flower, which are very poisonous if eaten.

Yes, I love most all plants....love to garden and just be outside when ever I can.

I clicked to enlarge. I love the way the sun shines through the leaves. Great shot!
